Description: Fusiform body, rounded and moderately high. Large eyes. Two dorsal fins very close together, the second, like the anal fin, followed by 7 to 9 pinnules. Pectoral fins very long, even beyond the origin of the anal fin. Caudal peduncle with central keel. Dark blue coloration on the back; flanks and belly white silver; caudal fin with white border. Up to 1 m in length.
